The third session of the seminar explores the manipulation of reality in the contemporary political context, characterized by “alternative facts,” deep fakes, and generative AI. Film studies professor Dork Zabunyan will analyze the evolution of visual and narrative strategies deployed by Donald Trump and his team, from his presidency in 2017 to his 2024 campaign. Drawing on his book Fictions de Trump – Puissances des images et exercices du pouvoir (2020), the session will focus on the use of new technologies in shaping political discourse and public opinion.
